The main characteristic of Rodi Garganico is the overwhelming scent of lemon and orange groves. This fragrance goes together with that of pine trees, which grow all over the area.
The beach of Rodi is sandy for its largest part. The climate is mild and the sun, always shining, spreads his light all over, making the landscape incredibly bright.
This town has Greek origins, having been a colony of Crete and then of Greece
Its history is linked to the names of two important historical characters: Ferdinand of Aragon and Gioacchino Murat. Both found refuge in Rodi Garganico, as a guest the former, fleeing after the fall of Napoleon Bonaparte the latter.
The construction of the old town dates back to the 13th century BC, and derives its name from the population of the Rodi Garganico, who settled in these areas around the year 776.
Known as the Garden of Gargano, Rodi has been enjoying a fervent economic activity since the very beginning of the 20th century, based mainly on fishing and cultivation of citrus groves.
