San Menaio

Among the most popular seaside destinations of Gargano, is the beautiful beach of San Menaio

The beach of San Menaio belongs to the municipality of Vico del Gargano. The latter is also known as the Town of Citrus, for the considerable amount of citrus which grow in the territory.

The beach of San Menaio, 8 km away from the town of Vico, is located between Rodi and Peschici. It is characterized by the presence of pine trees and orange groves that fill the air with their scent. The clearness of the water on this stretch of coast is remarkable, attracting every year a large number of tourists.

Tourism has become over the years the leading force behind the economy of Gargano, together with the production of an excellent extra virgin olive oil and a still significant agricultural activity.

Near the beach of San Menaio there is another beach, also belonging to the municipality of Vico del Gargano: the small and isolated beach of Catenella. This a favourite destination for tourists who particularly like to be at peace during their holidays, for the unique sensation of  quietness that the sea can offer.
