Gargano offers its visitors a rich calendar of events:

theatrical or musical performances, annual events related to religion or traditions of Puglia.

We propose a calendar of events to recall you the most important ones, which, from May to September, will bring joy, carelessness, love of life and desire to hand down the tradition of Gargano.

Vieste

S. Maria di Merino’s day is the 9th of May. It schedules a magnificent show of fireworks which follow a procession.

Lesina

San Primiano Martyr is the Patron Saint of Lesina. The community celebrates in his honour from the 14th  to the 16th of May.

Cagnano Varano

St. Michele and Cataldo Patrons Saints of the city. The community celebrates in their honour on the 8th / 9th and 10th of May.

Viestestate from June to September there are music and theatrical performances, and film exhibitions.

Festival of the blue fish takes place during the month of August.

San Giovanni Rotondo

Giovanni Battista’s day. The community celebrates in his honour on the 24th / 25th  and 26th of June.

Peschici

Peschici Estate: is the title of the summer program sponsored by the town of Peschici. Besides festivals linked to the tradition, there are, every year, theatrical performances, concerts, and more.  community celebrates in their honour on the 8th / 9th and 10th of May.

July

Cagnano Varano

Madonna del Carmine’s day. The community celebrates in her honour on the 16th of July.

Manfredonia

"Mangiamare"  is the name of the festival of the blue fish, cooked in traditional ways and tasted in local areas nearby the harbour. It is held each year on the 10th of

Manfredonia Festival: in the month of July the city gets filled with theatrical performances, music festivals, screenings of quality films and much more.

Monte Sant'Angelo

Trofeo "Città di Monte Sant'Angelo". This year is the second edition of this event, dedicated to the young talents of photography. It generally takes place in the month of July and culminates with the prize giving.

Montestate: it is the title of the whole summer season, rich of events sponsored by the city

Peschici

Sant'Elia Prophet's day. The community celebrates in honour of the Saint Patron of the city from the 18th to 21st of July.

Rodi Garganico

St. Maria Della Libera and Cristoforo’s day. The community celebrates in their honour on the  2nd  and 3rd of July.

Isole Tremiti

Tremiti Festival held by Lucio Dalla. It takes place on the 30th of June and 1st of July

Feast of the Sea. It takes place on the 4th of July, in commemoration of the foundation of the marine reserves.

August

Vieste

Festival of the blue fish takes place every year during the month of August.

Isole Tremiti

Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary takes place on the 15th of August.

St. Assunta’s day: he community celebrates in her honour on the 16th of August.

Rodi Garganico

San Rocco’s day: The community celebrates in his honour from the 11th to the19th of August.

Piano Festival of Gargano: Among all cultural events sponsored by the city, it is certainly the most important one. The Festival is held during the months of August and September.

Cagnano Varano

Festival of Varanea takes place on the 13th of August

During this festival, fishermen provide grilled fish prepared on the spot. In the meanwhile, you will see fireworks, whose light is reflected on the lake illuminated by special buoys.

September

San Giovanni Rotondo

Death of Padre Pio - Liturgical Festivity of St. Pio of Pietralcina.: It takes place on the 23rd  of September (Padre Pio died in 2002).

City festival takes place on the 20th of September. It commemorates the delivery of the keys of the city to Padre Pio.

Peschici

Peschijazz: This year is the second edition of this jazz music festival, which is destined to become an annual event for the municipality. The exhibition is held, as usually, in the first week of September and hosts internationally renowned musicians, such as Giovanni Allevi, Stefano Bollani, Roberto Ciotti and Steve Grossman. The fans of this musical genre will be very happy!

Manfredonia

Procession of St. Andrea. On the 1st of September, the statue of the saint is carried into the Gulf. After that, you will admire the fleet of fishing vessels of the town.

Mattinata

Patron’s day: Dedicated to Santa Maria della Luce, this festivity is celebrated on the 14th, 15th and 16th of September. Each year, at the end of the festivity you will admire fireworks

Monte Sant'Angelo

Michele Archangel’s day: He is the Patron Saint of the city and his celebration is undoubtedly the most important event for the religious community of Monte Sant'Angelo. The Festival lasts several days, from the 27th of September to the 2nd of October.

Rodi Garganico

Piano Festival of Gargano. Among all cultural events sponsored by the town, it is certainly the most important one. The Festival is held during the months of August and September.
